April is "Celebrate Your Body" Month

Dance 1 Students are taking these weeks to reflect on their gifts, growing talents and overall health as an individual this month.  Dancers know how helpful- and harsh- mirrors can be in this field of art, so St. Lucy's Dancers are taking action to change that.

We dance to communicate our thoughts and feelings, but mostly to celebrate our existence.  Who needs a mirror to tell you how beautiful of a dancer you really are?  Be your own kind of beautiful.

By sharing inspirational quotes, writing letters and poems to the class, creating a "body beautiful" collage and responding to a live poetry performance on body image, our dancers are remembering the importance of this performing art.

Just a summer job in dance (16+ ages)?
I strongly encourage ALL of you to audition for local dance companies, scholarships, collegiate teams and anything else offered in this field.  The more opportunities you have to "see what else is out there", the stronger perform you can become.
